The tiny church of South Boarhunt stands upon a small hill in the hundred of Portsdown about 2 miles to the Northeast of Fareham, Portsdown Hill extends into this parish on the summit of which can be see the column erected in honour of Lord Nelson after his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. A farm and a couple of cottages also share this section of Saxon England.
We nearly missed the church when we travelled down that way and it is the bell turret, shaped like an arch that catches the eye, but be careful as you can easily drive past the entrance to the car park, as we nearly did. HISTORY OF ST NICHOLAS' CHURCH
