Pollarded Lime trees stand like sentries on the paved approach to
the medieval church at Bullington
Bullington is a parish in the Andover district and lies on
an affluent of the River Test midway betwen Micheldever station
and Whitchurch. It is a lovely little village that lies peacefully
in pastoral countryside not far from Tidbury Ring which was a
perhistoric encampment.
The small
church of St Michaels is approached by a small path that is
shaded by pollarded lime trees. It has a victorian brick and flint
built tower and there are some traceried windows and under a
simple arch there is a bricked up Norman doorway. The font is from
the 14th century. |
