EAST OAKLEY

East Oakley lies on the border of WOOTTON ST LAWRENCE just to the east of Basingstoke, and was taken from several small land owners by the Prior and Convent of St Swithun at Winchester during the reign of Henry III and it formed a part of the Manor of Manydown. I

The village of East Oakley is on the boarder of Wootton St Lawrence, and was acquired from several small land owners by the Prior and Convent of St Swithun in the time of Henry III and 1in 1541 during The Reformation the estate formed part of the manor of Manydown to the Dean and Chapter of Winchester
