These pages have been provided as a service by members of the HGS Computer Group.The aims of the Computer Group, are to give hands on experience with computers.We provide help for beginners and experienced computer users, giving advice on genealogical programmes, the internet, managing genealogical data, various census, IGI, scanning etc.We have a selection of shareware and demo software that members can try out with help and assistance as necessary.The web pages are set up to enable new and existing users to find the information on rootsweb (I have categorised all the different UK lists by County so that you can easily find the appropriate list and also find how to subscribe, search the archives etc.), IGI, software free and shareware. Where to get a virus checker etc. The latest list of CDs available from LDS including prices and ordering information. Although it is aimed at the Hampshire members of Rootsweb there are many links to information that people ask for.

THE ISLE OF WIGHT FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY
The society is for all those who want to trace their ancestors. Members include people who live on the Isle of Wight but whose families came from elsewhere as well as those with island ancestry who may live on the mainland or abroad.

Staunton Park Genealogy Centre The web site of the Staunton Park Genealogy Centre,  was formed on 8th January, 1991. The Centre, which is an independent organisation, is based at the Staunton Park Community School just north of Havant by the Staunton Country Park which has a very long and interesting history.  The Centre aims to promote and encourage the study of family History and the pursuit of research all over the British Isles. To assist in research, the Centre meets in comfortable and well-equipped surroundings and has sixteen micro-fiche readers and one microfilm reader. There are numerous indexes and finding aids in printed form, microfiche and on computer which are regularly being updated and extended.

 ANN BARRETTS PAGE Ann Barrett has put together a very useful webpage in which she offers information from the considerable amount of research that she has done at the IOW Record Office on many topics concerned with IOW local history including Schools and Education, Parkhurst Prison personnel, Coastguards and IOW Railway personnel.
