The Hampshire-Life email list is a facility hosted by Rootsweb, the largest free genealogical website on the Internet, and is designed to allow it subscribers to post messages in the form of emails in relation to researching their family history, or any other topic concerning the county of Hampshire.

The service is absolutely free of any charges whatsoever and as well as finding other people researching the same interests, Hampshire-Life has united people with relatives that they never knew they had. 

The list is a very friendly list and has a membership of around 300-400 subscribers, who are only too willing to share information or help out in various ways. One of Rootsweb's must friendliest lists.

There are two types of subscription, Email Mode whereas subscribers receive a copy of ALL postings to the list as they are received, or Digest Mode where a set number of postings are collected and placed as attachments in one email and send out at periodic intervals each day. PLEASE NOTE that Rootsweb filters all postings for Virus traffic and Spam and that all postings received from Hampshire Life are virus free.

•  Do not put a subject in the subject line.

• In the text box put SUBSCRIBE only and nothing else.

You will receive an acknowledgement saying you have been subscribed within minutes and a welcome email will arrive shortly from the Hampshire-Life List Administrators giving you a brief insight into the workings of the list as well as hints and tips.

PLEASE NOTE THAT POSTINGS TO THE LIST ARE TO A DIFFERENT EMAIL ADDRESS THAN THE ONE YOU SUBSCRIBED WITH, You will be informed of all email addresses on your acknowledgement/welcome email
