.Woolton. Hill is an ecclesiastical parish, formed in 1850. The church of St. Thomas, consecrated in October, 1849, is in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, north aisle, with a spire and 5 bells, and contains sittings for 400 persons: the chancel window is of stained glass. The register dates from the year 1849. National schools, in connection with this church, were established in 1850. The population of the ecclesiastical pariah in 1871 was 751. |
